About The Brand
Sken Studios is a sustainable jewellery brand making playful, humorous pieces from their Manchester studio, founded by Sabira Silcock. In fact, about the only things taken seriously at Sken Studios are the craftsmanship and their environmental credentials. In Swedish, sken means ‘to shine or glow’, and everything at Sken Studios is designed to make your day shine as bright as the pieces themselves.
Their joyful designs are all lovingly handmade in recycled silver by Sabira and carefully packaged using recycled materials - because they’re not only here for a good time, but a long time too.
the face behind the brand
Sabira is the founder of Sken Studios. She holds a BA from Nottingham Trent and an MA from Konstfack in Stockholm, but Sken was born when she was on maternity leave in Manchester in the spring of 2020. Since then, Sken has grown and grown, but the ethos remains the same: always look on the bright side.

Sken Studios now have a swish new studio in the centre of Sale, South Manchester.
It’s where your jewellery is made, much black coffee is consumed and at 3pm, the sun peeps through the window, pings off the disco ball and floods the jewellers bench with light.
We also invite over customers over to the studio for jewellery consultations. If you’re interested in commissioning a bespoke piece, you can come down, chat through your ideas and see some jewellery examples up close.
