How to measure your ring size

This is a question which we commonly get asked. In an ideal scenario it’s best to have your finger measured by a professional jeweller, and if possible, explain the style of the ring as the chunkiness can affect sizing. We also sell ring sizers to help you to measure your own finger conveniently at home, available on our website here.

However, we understand that this isn’t always an option. If you need to order in a hurry, you can use the guide below to determine your size.

Follow these directions for an approximate result.

  1. Cut a strip of paper no wider than 1 cm.

  2. Wrap it around the base of your finger.

  3. Use a pen to mark the point on the paper where it overlaps, forming a complete circle.

  4. With a ruler, measure the length (in mm) from the starting end of the paper to the pen mark.

  5. Use the list below to determine your UK ring size.

Here are some tips to make your ring size measurement more accurate:

  • After measuring the paper, ensure you can easily slide it off over your knuckle without enlarging the circle.

  • Don't measure cold fingers. This is when fingers are their smallest

  • For the most accurate reading, measure the finger at the end of the day when the finger is the largest.
