Jewellery Care
To keep your Sken Jewellery in perfect condition, please consider the following:
Wearing
Avoid putting perfumes, creams and lotions on the pieces. Please remove jewellery when you bathe, shower or swim, and even when you sleep so that you don't risk damaging your jewellery.
storing
To keep your jewellery sparkling, we recommend keeping your jewellery in the original packaging provided. This will help to avoid scratching the surface and slow down the rate of oxidisation.
Cleaning silver jewellery
Silver naturally tarnishes and becomes darker in colour, especially if left unworn (this is called oxidisation). If your silver jewellery becomes dull or blackened, you can simply wipe it with a silver polishing cloth to remove the tarnish. We have cloths available on our website here.
gold vermeil
Gold Vermeil is an industry term for a thicker layer of gold plating (2.5 microns). We plate our rings 3.5 microns thick to make them extra hard-wearing, however, plating is not a permanent solution and will wear away eventually, although this usually takes a couple of years , dependent on wear.

Avoid chemical products such as hairspray, perfume, etc. while wearing plated jewellery. Avoid bumping & scratching the surface. Gently clean with warm water and a soft cotton cloth, though only when necessary
